The Lonely Puppet. Poem by ThomasW Northcross

The Lonely Puppet.

Rating: 5.0

Look at me the lonely puppet,
dangling by a string.
come on over give a tug,
watch me dance and sing.

Don't be nervous use me up
I'm everybody's toy.
Just a simple stepping stone,
to rape and then destroy.

When your finished no big deal,
do like all the rest.
toss me out and walk away,
say it's for the best.

Now I sit and wonder why,
I never cut those strings.
For as life has passed me by,
so also have my dreams.

An insightful depiction of the exploitation of the gullible - stooges used at will and discard at will. Beautiful piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely penned in good rhyme scheme with conviction. Thanks for sharing Thomas..

Sometimes we all feel like puppets, controlled by someone else. Cut those strings and become your own man! This seems to be the first poem that you have posted to this website. Welcome to Poem Hunter!
