The Last Memory Of You Poem by Herbert Dry

The Last Memory Of You

Rating: 5.0

I walked by were you lived years ago there's
nothing there now just empty space
I look back through the yesteryears standing
where I stood years ago I still see your face

Hurled back through time by memories past
standing where I once stood I can feel your embrace
I hear the laughter I feel the joy we didn't know our
stories end
Hand in hand arm in arm lips to lips a gentle kiss
everyone knew we wasn't just
friends

I remember well us saying good bye
tears streamed from our eyes
Separated by miles our love didn't end
Even though we may never see each other again

Beautiful sentiments, tenderly portrayed with a gentle sadness within your poem. Very endearing with hope that you will one day be reunited with the love of yesteryear. Love this poem! One thing I would add to Kurt's corrections. I hear the laughter, I feel the joy, we didn't now (our) stories (would) end. Same advice as Kurt gave. Do what you will. Totally appreciate you sharing this poem though, It is really great! Thank you, RoseAnn

As a former English teacher, I can't help making a few corrections. Just trying to be helpful. Take 'em or leave 'em. The poem itself is good. You were able to transmit your emotions into me. I walked by where you lived years ago. There's nothing there now, just empty space. I look back through the yesteryears, standing where I stood years ago. I still see your face. Hurled back through time by memories past, standing where I once stood, I can feel your embrace. I hear the laughter; I feel the joy. We didn't know stories end. Hand in hand, arm in arm, lips to lips: a gentle kiss. Everyone knew we weren't just friends. I remember well us saying good bye. Tears streamed from our eyes. Separated by miles, our love didn't end, Even though we may never see each other again. Beautiful sentiments, wonderfully expressed!
