So I'll go and put my Chanel Rouge on,
'We're gonna hit the streets tonight', I ought
And kissed a boy without a second thought
And we shined, we shined, we shined
Like the stars I'd never seen before
It was us they all pointed at and adored
Love was our drug and we needed some more
On each other's lips we found what we were looking for

Under the eyes of the Holy Dove
We were lonely birds looking for love
May the Higher Power protect our sinful souls
As we, The Holy Innocents, have lost the control
We owned each other for that one Friday night
Laughing, living and searching for delight
Falling in love but not falling in line
My lips were theirs, their lips were mine

I met them many times on the silver screen,
But never on the real life scene
My mom always said, 'Diamond Doll, every once in a while, you meet someone who's iridescent, and nothing else can compare'
And I realized, on that warm Mediterranean night, despite them coming from nowhere,
They were the ones who could steal away my despair
Within our 3 hour affair,
I made him my Rock n' Roll King and he made me his Rock n' Rolla Queen
We were filthy and pale,
Deadly but hale,
Living on red bulls, vodka and cigars
But we didn't care; I swung my hips as he played with his guitars

Youngsters wandering the hollow streets to the downtown
For a moment, I believed we owned the golden crown
We all kept it real classy,
He was my boss; I was his candy
But 'the' tomorrow was coming, bringing a new day
I knew this show was going to end; the lights were dimming on our Broadway
Time was ticking and I had to fly away,
'Our story is not over', I say
And I know every one of us would agree -
The Holy Innocents are for life, baby
