The Heart That Breaks My Heart Poem by Sherri Vogel

The Heart That Breaks My Heart

It's a brand new year
I'm making a new start
I'm finally giving up
The heart that breaks my heart.
I'm leaving you behind
That's where you belong
Hope one day you'll hear this
Consider it our song.
I'm finally getting used to
Always feeling blue
Realizing deep in my heart
I just don't need you.
So when your phones not ringing
You can bet that's me
Happy New Millenium
I'm over you you'll see.
I'm not gonna waste
A single minute more
I'm better off without you
Like I was before.
I don't really know
Why I stayed in touch
Why my heart was so niave
To ever care that much.
With every single moment
You made it crystal clear
Congratulations, dreams come true,
I'll just disappear.
Believe me I won't look behind
There's nothing to regret
Not much to remember
And not much to forget.
My New Year's Resolution
When 2000 makes its start
Is finally getting over
'The Heart That Breaks My Heart.'
