Sherri Vogel Poems

You smoke at home and in the car
Fancy restaurants and the bar.
At a picnic, baseball game
Puffin' smoke what a shame.
...

Without You
Without You
Life isn't right
I go to bed
...

Remember when I held you
And told you, you were mine
It seems so long ago
In another place and time.
...

The raindrops are teardrops falling from the sky
God and the Angels also need to cry.
They watch us like a movie if we were there we'd cry too
At this messed up world we live in God built for me and you.
...

It's a brand new year
I'm making a new start
I'm finally giving up
The heart that breaks my heart.
...

God it seems so sad he held his pain inside
And chose to end his life committing suicide.
Believing no one cared wishing he was gone
He somehow lost the strength and will to just move on.
...

Isn't it funny when I hardly knew you how easy words just came
Never knew the person just the face and name
Poems and songs I wrote about you for so long
How could my opinion of you have been so wrong.
...

I know I never thanked you
But in my heart I always do
For all the inspiration
I was given right from you.
...

We just thought our Saturday wouldn't be complete
Unless we messed the building with our little feet.
Yes we are the Leprechauns those tiny cranky men
With our hidden pots of gold we've come around again.
...

It had been quite a few years since you went away
And I thought about you that's all I can say
You were a memory that just played a part
In bringing the words right out of my heart.
...

I could have sworn you told me that you have caller ID
Guess last Wednesday when I called it didn't work for me.
I think I let your phone ring three times maybe four
I'm sure you saw my number when you walked in the door.

Food, water, bones, and a walk
Are four words my dog would say if he could only talk.
He'd say lets play ball but don't throw it too far
'Cause I don't want to get run over by that oncoming car.
...

Please don't get upset
I do not mean to stare
It's just those gorgeous eyes
And dark brown curly hair.
...

No need to answer
Just called to say
You wrote a letter
Arrived today.
...

He and I so long ago bought the little tree
And planted it in the front yard for all the world to see.
The tree, a sign, of the love we'd always share
Showed happiness, comfort, peace, joy, and care.
...

I love you and you love her
Doesn't seem quite right
While I close my eyes to dream
You're with her tonight.
...

Addictions
...

Although you've been gone for so many years every now and then I cry
'Cause I find it sad to think you left and we never said goodbye.
I never got to tell you how much you meant to me
But somehow I know your listening wherever you may be.
...

Lynnea says I am helpable though I shop and I hoard
Have unpaid bills stacked on piles I can not afford.
My VISA's been outrageous my money all is spent
I charged a money order to pay my last months rent.
...

I wish I had the nerve
To call you up and say
I haven't got your letter
But I'm sure it's on its way.

Sherri Vogel Biography

I've been writing poems since I was in high school. Most everything I write rhymes. Writing poems helps me to release my feelings. I hope others enjoy reading them as much as I love writing them. Thank you to all the people I've met on my journey through life. Many of those, (who I call friends) , gave me the inspiration to write the poems I've written. They are people I care deeply about and I will consider them special forever. I also want to thank God for giving me the ability to write. If anyone is interested in seeing pictures of Dusty or Chico, (the dogs I wrote about) , or me you can visit my myspace page by going to the link below. The Best Poem Of Sherri Vogel

Second Hand Smoke

You smoke at home and in the car
Fancy restaurants and the bar.
At a picnic, baseball game
Puffin' smoke what a shame.
You're wasting money polluting the air
Causing cancer don't you care?
Your lungs by now are covered in black
But you head for the store and buy a pack.
Spend Two Dollars when you could have bought food
And put everyone else in a much better mood.
Doctors have warned you labels have too
But obviously cancer does not concern you.
For all of you out there who think it looks great
There are millions of people who could tell you it ain't.
We're the second hand smokers who breathe it all in
It clings to our clothes, our hair, and our skin.
We wake up with headaches our eyes water too
What a joy to share this bad habit with you.
'Cause you buy the carton enjoy it and yet
Make us breathe in smoke from your cigarette.
We're innocent victims have bad habits too
But unlike smokers don't force them on you.
So when you're out in public don't ask for a light
Think about others it's so impolite.
We're people who care and wish you would quit
That dangerous, deadly, smoking habit.
