The Glory Is In You Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

The Glory Is In You

Walking out from him
Whip, whip, whip, whip...
talking back to him
Whip, whip, whip, whip
White skin, white beauty
White language, white rules
white thieves, White privilege,
white world, White views,
White faith, white teachings
white lies, white culture
white devil, white seasons
white diseases, white vultures
These are just a couple things
instilled upon the Melanated
You strip their strength
It'll make them weaker
We just here and trying to live
All Nubian groups
They want to be you
They want to be you
Hate disguise their love
Because they really
think we're cool
Heart so cruel
Makes a fool
Succumb to insecurities
An Inferior complex
disables their humanity

Injustice and racism prevail all around the world. Keep on fighting them. Someday, there will be a change. Nice write. can understand your feelings. Thanks for posting.
