The Garrulous Din Poem by Indira Renganathan

The Garrulous Din

Rating: 5.0

Often she feels she is done under
A guillotine
Her beheaded body tremulates
Like the quaked earth
A gruff voice of needless words
Reverberates nightlong

It is he, her rough man
In gruff tone
Spews all the rubbish hustle-bustle
Clamoring from the office hubub
Nonstop for hours
A pain in the neck between her
Mind and heart in daily routine
What's wrong if
Often she feels she is done under
A guillotine

A difficult subject to talk to her husband about. Perhaps if she invited her female friends around when he's there and she can gossip with them to annoy him? ? ? Good poem Indira.

A heart-rending poem. A vivid depiction of domestic abuse and never-ending sadness and difficulties on the part of a wife. A well expressed poem.
