The Galwan Valley Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

The Galwan Valley

Rating: 5.0

A Himalayan beauty
Where wander drifts of clouds high and not far away
Circling round it as if to shelter them
With shades of coolness in daytime
And azure is the sky and splendor is the morn
And nearby a river rolls on
Water of which is said colder than tears
For it lives on zero-degree Celsius
And when night falls
Glens, cliffs, caves,
Clover and trees nearby all go silent
Save that
Chinese incursion that
Takes place as usual in the cover of darkness and it is not that
It is such a little thing not to die for
As seemed skirmish as a domestic row
Yet amid scuffles and fisticuffs
Of such a face-off
Time rolled on and
People traded
War of words
While soldiers were martyred

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Kumarmani Mahakul 20 June 2020

People traded war of words while soldiers were martyred and this was so sad. Livers of soldiers were precious. We deeply express condolence and offer prayer for peace of the martyred soldiers. No one needs war. Every person in this world needs love and peace. This poem is amazingly penned.
