The First Lesson Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

The First Lesson

Some Divine Hand;
Always caressing her,
In baby’s serene slumber,
Ah, I see, God is near,
Talking in dreams to her,
Angelic voices whispering,
Soft, sweet and clear,
And thus has come smiles,
On her cheeks, forming
Dimples where in God lives,
And perchance bestowing
On her, the first lesson,
As a gleam of light,
She whispers and utters,
When she wakes up,
In the morning light,
Young, innocent baby,
Twinkle, rhyme and smile,
Taking in all God’s glory,
Uttering Mummy and Daddy,
As the first lesson from her lip,
The world hears joyously......
