The Failures Of Life Poem by Julie Smith

The Failures Of Life

Rating: 5.0

Subliminal jealousy
It's a pity
Why do you keep measuring my devotion?

You think I would leave but it's only
Your conceited truth
That could make us drift apart

But I won't let it come that far
Because I learned and I am loyal
And now I'm sounding just like you

When we'd be the purest souls
Perfect people in imperfect circumstances
Colliding and repelling just like magnets

I failed to say the things I should
When the moment was right
Too late, wrong time, wrong choice of words

I thought you knew but you keep guessing
Can't be pleased by reactions
Would I care if things were different?

I never thought I could be one of the lost ones
Talking about heartbreak and isolation and the typical downfalls of an obliterated life
Then I fell right into it

Can we ever overcome these failures of life?

Very good. The intensity of your thoughts are speaking to us. We are seeing them more than hearing them. Bravo!

Every failure in our lives steers us closer to where we are meant to be. We do overcome these.
