The Darkness From Within Poem by Victoria Tori

Deep down
Locked away,
In a small beaten box
Wrapped with rusted chains,
Lies the darkness
From within me.
Everyday is another day
Closer to the end of my
Goodness in me.
It shakes,
It rattles,
And it screams.
Slowly releasing itself
From its prisoned cage.
It seeps through the cracks,
Darting in every direction
At the goodness in me.
Like a bullet that was just
Shot out of a gun.
Spreading like a disease,
Covering every inch
Of my body.
I am covered in darkness
From within me.
My eyes fill with black fog,
My veins run cold and black.
My hair fades to black charcoal,
My nails grow sharp.
As I grow stronger,
My heart is filled with hatred,
My mind is mean and cruel.
My teeth grow sharp and pointy,
I’m hungry for blood.
Feeding on human life,
Throwing the bodies to the side
With satisfaction.
As days go by,
Every human being dies.
They lay dead and hollow,
Drained of their blood.
I sit hunched over a roof top,
Growing hungry for more blood.
I cut myself to feed,
But no blood comes out
Only black ink
Seeps through my cold pale skin.
I drain all the black ink
From my body.
As I watch as it all comes out,
My vision starts to fade away.
Everything goes black,
I never woke up.
I lay died
From the darkness
From within me
