The Dark Circle (1995-1996) Poem by Lillian B. Rose

The Dark Circle (1995-1996)

Dreams get smashed on rocks
Hopes arte thrown to the breeze
Love splits you open
and leaves you to bleed

Friendships are a farse
With people untrue
Lying and punishing
Always the little that you do

But what can you do
Life is for fighting
Battles to win
Or defeats never-ending

And as the day draws to its close
The sour turning calm
The skipping, the laughing, the joy returns
If only for a moment
