The Dark Poem by Hope Wallin

The Dark

The Dark.
The vast, sweeping blackness of it all.
The nightly shade that covers my tears,
hiding them in The Dark.
Silently, the predator in me takes hold,
and the city is MINE! !
Woe to all that cross my path.
Any who meet my deathly, fiery eyes
fall victim to my unbreakable bloodlust.
A passion burns in my spirit,
driving me to kill the innocent
and the guilty.
The police cannot catch me.
I am a Phantom Of The Night,
and Enforcer Of The Dark.
A willing slave.
The Dark takes over my mind,
my body,
my soul.
and I willingly give myself up to it,
for there is no pain,
no sadness,
in The Dark.
