Burn Me Poem by Hope Wallin

Burn Me

Searing anticipation,
And a desire burning hotter than open flame.
I cannot have you,
Yet you've promised me the impossible,
Somehting hot on my tongue,
Something I crave.
Just a taste of you is all I am allowed.
Just a single taste of the
Forbidden fruit I desire so badly.
Desire that burns into a need,
Too hot to be satiated by just one minor taste.
Summer lightning strikes me down,
As a forest fire in my soul
Burns my heart to ashes.
