The Critics Who Critique Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

The Critics Who Critique

Rating: 5.0

You who criticise poetry
From the hearts of writers
Assuming because you
Write too much
That you have right
To be so judgemental
Of their work
Just look at yourself
Sitting on the hill
Down playing God
Then sitting in his seat
And judging
Shame, oh shame, on you
Two faces is too many
Go back to one.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
You won't take away my right to write right…? I sung quietly to the critic
sitting in the dark trying to do just that.

Hi Geoffrey, your poems that you share about your thoughts, such as this one are enjoyed always. Meeting with a Critic can sometimes leave one feeling so sad, we all judge, some more outspoken than others.
