The Cacti And A Cactus Poem by Indira Renganathan

The Cacti And A Cactus

Rating: 5.0

Hiding yourselves in bushes lying in ambush
Like a porcupine hiding its head bundled
A ball with spines you're formed too

And straight and majestic like the soldiers
Fencing along the land's border with guns
Guarding you look with spines too

Along the roadsides and rocky regions, deserts and hills
River banks and everywhere as you all live in squads
you plume with different flowers attired with
Different leaves and shapes spiny is true too

In a tranquil mood as the calm waves roll
Anaked seashore stretches in silent admiration
Under the quiet yellow sunshine like an army woman
There stands a lonely spiny cactus bold and gallant
A panache, a red flower on her crown proclaiming
'A symbol of confidence'.Isn't that too true

Who but one with a fine poetic sensitivity can see in a cactus so much? A plant with harsh exterior but such feeling interior to produce colourful flowers. Beautiful poem, indeed

A cactus plant is a symbol of strength and confidence. " Under the quiet yellow sunshine like an army woman There stands a lonely spiny cactus bold and gallant." Beautiful description of Cactus in elegant verses........10

Beautiful poem on cacti. These spiny plants have very colorful flowers. They grow in deserts and rocky terrains. Their succulent leaves store water inside and can survive without being watered for days and months. I enjoyed the comparison of the cactus plant to a porcupine. A sure 10

An insightful inscription has been made on cacti and cactus in this poem incisively. The most remarkable linea are.... In a tranquil mood as the calm waves roll / Anaked seashore stretches in silent admiration / Under the quiet yellow sunshine like an army woman / There stands a lonely spiny cactus bold and gallant / A panache, a red flower on her crown proclaiming / 'A symbol of confidence'.Isn't that too true. I appreciate the way of presentation. Marvelous poem. Thanks for sharing.10
