The African Man Poem by Gerry Legister

The African Man

Here, I am an African man
Born from just a single strand
Complex, that's who I am
That African man

The mist of present mystery
Many do not understand
The mysticism of hidden legacy
Rooted in that African man.

On a journey far beyond
The banks of this integrated land
A rising force stands resilient
in that African man

The destiny of nations
will unite as a bright beacon
when they see dreams and visions
coming from that African man.

And the sum of solution
fed on the crumbs of exclusion
the nectar taste which drips down
to the African man

The pain paints a new horizon
In every nation where injustice stand
With knowledge and wisdom
Coming From that African man
