The Admirable Mo Poem by Francis Duggan

The Admirable Mo

Rating: 4.8

My admiration for him it only does grow
For a braver one than he is of i may never know
A paraplegic due to a motor accident forty years ago
Now in his early sixties the admirable Mo
Into his fourth decade in a wheelchair
Yet you never will hear him say life is unfair
An only child his mum and his dad in the cemetery lay
He is all alone in the World today
Without any children or a partner or wife
Yet he does not feel he is hard done by life
Into his sixth decade he lives on his own
Braver than he is of i have not known
Life's toughest challenges he has had to face
Yet on his happy features of sorrow no trace.

CONGRATULATIONS for you as Member Poem Of The Day! I have respect for the words you have chosen in this most beautiful poem and to my feelings full of melancholy. Dear Mo is a very courageous man, he knows himself, his own body and what he can and what he cannot. He is grateful to have you, dear Francis, and we shall not see him crying or being very sad in tears. Not at all. he knows his place and is thankful that he is still

The poem is a great tribute to the man who has been confined to wheel chair for the last forty years with no parents or family to take care of him, yet faces the challenges of life bravely with no grudge , no complaints. This is really an inspirational story, thanks for sharing. Congratulations for being selected as the Poem of the Day.

Life's toughest challenges he has had to face Yet on his happy features of sorrow no trace... //.... A heartfelt tribute to a self sustained soul who is confined to a wheel-chair for the last four decades without parents or friends in this self-centered world. Thanks.
