The Absurd Nightmare Poem by Jasbir Chatterjee

The Absurd Nightmare

Rating: 5.0

In one of those absurd nightmares,
When one is conscious enough
To identify the absurd,
But still
Unconscious enough to
Believe in the absurd,
I stand at the solitary sea beach
With the waves knocking against my knees
And I have an irresistible urge to keep going on and on and on
Out into the wide sea...
And driven by some strange, compelling force
I go on and on and on...
Well aware that that I cannot swim
That I might never come back...

In one of those absurd nightmares,
When one is conscious enough
To identify the absurd,
But still
Unconscious enough to
Believe in the absurd,
I float on the wide sea,
And my head bangs against an iron gate enclosing the wide sea.
I fumble in my pocket for the key
To enable me to go on and on and on
Out into the wide sea...
And driven by some strange, compelling force
I laugh on and on and on,
At the absurd idea of an iron gate
Enclosing the infinite sea!
At the absurd idea of the key
Lying in my pocket...

In one of those absurd nightmare conscious identity motivates and gives amazing perception. Enclosing the infinite sea an ideological key is noticed. This poem is brilliantly penned.10

A beautiful imagination is created by the poet about the death but locks are not in our hands actually but it is kept somewhere in the eternity in natural ways. A beautiful poem and imagination and also likes it.

A nice imagery of sub-conscious for the eternal journey where gates of the destination are locked bu we are in possession of its keys.
