That Festival Of Greed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

That Festival Of Greed

Caught up!
In an hypnotic belief.
That their festival of greed,
Has an eternal existence.
Even when warned,
A unique storm...
Given the name 'Reality',
Approaches their shores.
No one should ignore.

Yet...
Entitled to dismiss,
What does not appear...
On their list of priorities.
They pledge to devote,
A loyalty to give.
They continued despite the warnings.
Warnings of a reality.
Yet not near.

Prepared were the rescuers.
To calm the hysterics.
And the madness certain to come.
From those attempting to cling on,
To their normalized deluded lives.
Refusing to accept,
The time is coming.
Putting an end to delusions.
Delusions kept with wishes,
Never to realize they all may die!

That Festival Of Greed,
Fed to feed.
Successfully.
Promises to be the one main threat,
To the ones unconcerned...
A delusion to worship,
Is no defense against truth.
Or a fantasized way of life to live.

A few stop to stare.
As the storm 'Reality',
Approaches even closer.
And their screams begin,
A chaotic havoc.
Leaving some running for their lives.
Not to wish with a want to have it.

While others seek weapons.
In the hope 'Reality',
They can defeat.
Winning over deceptions to protect.
Deceptions accepted,
From birth to believe.

And the rescuers?
Prepared.
To slap faces.
Apply smelling salts.
Mouth to mouth resuscitation.
Whatever it takes,
To eliminate the madness.
Or identified mental craze.
Look on in disbelief.
Realizing how massive a task,
Awakening the many to truth can be!

"Uh...
We have confronted a slight problem.
Yes!
We are at the scene now.
And the storm is getting closer.
Not as of yet to touch the shore.

However...
We may be overwhelmed,
Performing our task.
And we are asking,
Begging!
For immediate backup!

Some have begun to run.
While others,
Believe this or not.
They are laughing.
YES!
LAUGHING! !
As if...
They have already lost their minds.
This storm 'Reality? '
Could be devastating.
Leaving a long lasting,
And perhaps a permanent effect.
You have got to come quick,
To witness this."
