Texas Woman. Poem by dave lessard

Texas Woman.

Rating: 4.0

Texas woman, say you love me,
tho' I'm a Yankee through and through -
you're forever on my mind,
you've made my life brand new.
I'm a block made out of granite,
right out of those New Hampshire hills -
I like things plain and simple,
no fancy fuss or silly frills.
I know that we are good together,
Texas woman and New England man -
when we speak, we always listen,
and we always understand.
You're a pearl, right out of Houston,
smart and sexy in a lone-star way -
say you'll be my gal from now on,
and for the future, you will stay.
Texas woman, hold me fast and close,
hold me in the deep. dark night -
and when the early morning comes,
hold me closer, in the light.
