Ten More Minutes Poem by Jackie Gerhardy

Ten More Minutes

Give me Ten more minutes
Ten more is all I need
To get you out the door
and back into my dreams

Give me Ten more minutes
As we embrace
Tell me what you're thinking
When that smile comes to your face

Give me Ten more minutes
As I'm lying all alone
To stop all the waiting
To see you on my phone

Give me Ten more minutes
Ten more is on the snooze
So I can stare into your eyes
And try to forget you

Give me Ten more minutes
Ten more may be enough
For you to see into my heart
and to accept all my love

Give me ten more minutes
to heal all her wounds
Which you keep reopening
And there's nothing I can do

Give me ten more minutes
To stretch out my wings
So I can find my scissors
And cut myself from your strings

Give me ten more minutes
It's ten minutes until you leave
With everything I can give
With so much more for us to see

If you gave me Ten more minutes
Everything we could see
But you have no more time to give
and I have no more love to recieve
