Tartus Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Tartus

Tartus

Reading helped to recall
Train trip, to Kazan
"Death to America, " was his shout.

His shout and the marchers
Annually in August…

Of the Afghan Fighters
Gathered in Petersburg
Dvortsovaya Ploshchad

Talking of history
Their pride has been killed
Agreed so USA-Kremlin…

Naval base in Tartus
Can mean a revival
Of the fallen martyr.

Lenin's and Stalin's
The tsars' of before
In a way, both Russia.

We chatted and spoke
With-without alcohol
In Russia it paves road.

Train guy, ex-Navy's
Had sailed far and had seen:
"They are the perfect fools! "

He mentioned; proudly
"No visa, and no call, "
"We went in submarine, "

Secretly anchored there
"Blind their Pentagon! "

Putin has such people…
To us "Are crazy"
To him are: "My Heroes".
