Tarmon Gai'Don Poem by Thomas Ware

Tarmon Gai'Don

The lightning fell in bolts and flashes,
Fires burnt the town to ashes,
And who will live to save this place,
Once the base is erased from space?

Children ran, the women cried, the men could only run and hide,
People died.

Soldiers fought, but what against?
For they were contained within a fence,
Of evil Power.
Fire rained in a constant shower,
There was not spared a single tree nor flower,
People cower, people glower,
Where now is your precious Tower?
The soldiers fought, but what against?
For what they sensed was Power condensed.
What man can fight opposing this?

Children ran, the women cried, the men could only run and hide,
People died.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This was one of my first poems, and I always thought it was really long. Looking back on it it really is tiny. Just goes to show how much things change and grow as you get older.
