(stuff And Nonsense) One Of Those (Terrible) Days

Here is the third part of this series, the trend being seriously down rather than up!

It was one of those days when the looking glass said,
'You look as if you would be better off dead! '
My clothes were revolting ('We WON'T go to work! ')
and my hair overnight had gone quietly berserk.
Outside the window the streets were all icy...
(the mirror said, 'Driving will surely be dicy! ')
But I must - and I'm torn between duvet and duty...
(the bed calls me back in a voice warm and fruity)
I swallow, I gulp... is my throat getting sore?
(the mirror says 'Don't you step foot out the door! ')
Perhaps I am ill! Of course, I've got flu!
and suddenly it's very clear what to do...
It's one of those days that would make a saint weep...
and I climb back in bed and go straight back to sleep.

This will become maybe my favorite from the series. Let me think. Yes. Its somehow refined, the express, the selection of words... Strange, I even did not notice that it is actually one of these 'down' (the negative) days, it is so well penned.
