Street Of Shame Poem by Dave Alan Walker

Street Of Shame

Rating: 5.0

A street of shame
A street of pain
Rape and drugs, no ones sane
and no ones safe

Money owing and drug borrowing
day and night
It's always the same
on this street of shame

People robbing each other blind
taking their last dime
All for the sake of one last line

It's always the same
on this street of shame

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This street is about ten miles away from where I live.
It's got a lot worse over the years.

A bit one-sided methinks. Sounds as if you are blaming women! ! But that's a man thing I guess.

Beautiful..A street of shame/A street of pain....is very-well symbolically used....the noun shame really emphasize the diseased side of human-society and by cleverly putting a possession between street and shame, poet hits out at the evil-instinct of human-being.well-done..want more from you.
