Still My Baby Boy Poem by Marilyn Lott

Still My Baby Boy

The night was long, I walked and walked
Then at 7: 20 in the morning
My little boy finally made his appearance
Later I was finally soundly sleeping.

I heard a crying so loud and strong
As nurses brought babies down the hall
Lord, please don't let that be mine
I was certain it couldn't be mine at all.

Closer and closer it came to my room
Soon he was plopped into my arms
My beautiful bundle, almost 9 pounds
Along with his baby boy charms.

And today this pipefitter turns 40
So handsome, still charming and fine
I have to tell you, my friends
I am so happy that noisy baby was mine
