Steps Back Poem by Nicholas Hrynchuk

Steps Back

You texted me one time,
Now I'm taking steps back,
I don't know why you're affecting me so,
But I'm not liking this attack

I see you enter my last class,
And I only want to divert me eyes,
I didn't say any lies,
Yet I don't know what was true with you

You said you loved me,
But that can't be true,
If that's true we wouldn't be,
Where we are this very day

You made a dent in my life,
No, more than that,
More like a crater,
And it's where my heart sat

You were one of two,
That said you'd never leave,
I'm not sure what to do,
You're both slowly fading
