Staying Safe Poem by Randy McClave

Staying Safe

Rating: 5.0

Every hand that we don't shake
Must become a phone call that we could make,
Every embrace that we avoid and cannot return
Must become a verbal expression of warmth and concern,
Every inch and foot that we physically place between ourselves and another
Must become a thought as how we might be help to the other,
Every meeting or gathering that we cautiously ignore
Must be scheduled to another day we must thoughtfully implore,
Should the need be questioned when it does arise
Staying safe should be our main goal in our soul and eyes,
Let us draw to one and another closer in a special way
That we have never done before,on this or on any other day.
