Sonnet 3 Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Sonnet 3

Rating: 5.0

concrete meadows and blurry cliffs
with half-extinguished thought
and naive perplexity that you bought
the dreary relation shake for years

mysterious and serene mood
which the gently weight
amid the delightful night
best portion of a heart's food

October in the white hues
and suddenly lose themselves
felt strength below the Celtic sway
hold tight on the mellifluous way
in deep trance, from among trees
will athirst against the wilderness

(dedicated to a great poet, Paul Muldoon)
