Somewhere Safe Poem by Hebert Logerie

Somewhere Safe

If you're somewhere safe
God put you there
Be happy, be fair
To yourself. No if
No but. Don't be at war
You're blessed where you are.

You own nothing
Maybe yourself
You don't own a thing
Even yourself
You came down here with zip
And you'll return cheap
Leaving everything behind
So be humble and be kind.

You may have a temporary right
A piece of paper, a deed of a sight
If you're not in pain
Do not complain
God put you there for a reason
For another fruitful season.

Smile when you're hurt
It's good for the heart
If you're not suffering
Say a few jokes or sing
Depression can kill you
Stay away from the wrong crew
If you're under a solid roof
That's enough evidence or proof
That God is protecting you
Sleep where you are on the pew.

Don't complain
If you're not in pain
Be happy and be fair
God placed you there
For the coming season
For a divine reason.
