Someone To Pray To Poem by Rhianna Murphy

Someone To Pray To

Sometimes I wish that I had someone to pray to
A presence to tell my troubles in hopes that it might help
But I don't believe in that
I sometimes believe in a Supreme Being,
But nothing like and Almighty God or Unholy Satan
But can the Supreme Being even really be prayed to?
Perhaps it created us, the universe, but does not listen to prayer?

Sometimes I like to invent my own set of beliefs to comfort myself
Isn't that how it all began?
Perhaps I will give it a shot.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this when I was 15 or 16 and I didn't have any religion. I have since found Wicca and it has helped me tremendously.

There is nothing wrong in spiritual faith if it’s based on love.
