Society Never Liked Me Anyway Poem by David Thomas

Society Never Liked Me Anyway

The way you look at me
as if I am the everyday object
that you play with in your boredom,
it kills me
a knife sharper than any I have known.
my life is becoming different,
and I don't know where I am,
I've lost sight of what I once was
because I have grown so much in time
I don't give a damn about society
or its many pointless rules,
but I live on never-ending because I don't believe
in giving up or letting go
I don't have a purpose
I do not have a home for my heart
for everything I've ever loved was left behind,
and anyone I've ever loved has moved on.

Society never liked me anyway,
them and their stupid rules
I am a human born free as the rest
and you cannot control me,
when I walk out the door I choose
good luck making me sorry
you haven't got a clue.

We do have to grow with Society, yet it does not mean we cannot make our own choices and follow our own path - We have to be proud of who we and grow more each day with each single step. Thank You David
