Sleepless Poem by Victoria Hudson

Sleepless

Rating: 5.0

A Moonless night
A sleepless girl
Room to bright
To a darkened world
She is calm
The night, to her, still young
A heart so strong
Not a thing is wrong
No thoughts pass her head
As she sits there above her bed
Writing on paper and in lead
Not a thing she fears or dread
The cool night air
Her messy, unbrushed hair
Is someone there?
Will someone hear?
She looks out to the lake
Thinking of what keeps her awake
She wanders all night long
Humming only the words of a song
Deciding she needs rest
She lies down though tireless
She tries her best
And is soon consumed in darkness
