'Sleep' Poem by prita srini

'Sleep'

Rating: 5.0

And come to me oh royal queen,
shall i whisper into you my need.
Hide me unto your darkness wide,
hold me beneath your silver wings.
As i wind up in your tender arms,
look upon me as the night befalls.
Fill my dreams with treasures unseen,
with joys of love and songs unsung.
As the candle weeps its largest flame,
and the drops of dew fills the frame.
The moon reitreats a mournful tread,
and the stars around lay shyly spread.
Now whisper unto me oh royal queen,
for the dawn is near and the birds are here.
May i rise from under your silver wings,
into this light with a strangers eyes.
