Sinner Poem by Alejandro Torres

Sinner

Keep your fingers crossed
Sinner keep that smile sincere
The times coming
For what will seem
Like the end of your world
But the question is
Will Lady Luck stand by your side
Or turn her tides
Against you like women often do
Sinner in someone’s eyes
You are a would be Queen
Unlace those fine boned hands
Gentle as the breeze
As soft as the clouds
Hovering over a tormented sea
How many hearts
Do you collect
From those thrown at your feet
Would a simple poet do
Or do you only fall for Goddesses
Forget not Sinner
You were once human too
Or are the shadows
To hard to see through
When you catch that magnificent stare
You hold above us all
Looking back at you
Sinner I do not pray
As often as you do
But I’ve done what you could not
I’ve sold my soul
For the smile
I might not ever see again
The smile
Of a Saint
The smile
Of a Queen
The smile
Of my favorite
Sin
