Simple Things Poem by Mela Marie

Simple Things

Rating: 4.5

Stop and smell the roses
Never let a moment go by wasted
Take in the feelings all around you
Breathe in, do not be hasted.

The smile of a child as they lick a lollipop,
The sting on your stomach caused by a great big belly flop.
The warm feel of cocoa on a freezing winter day
The smell of blooming flowers on a sunny day in May
The comfort of a brand new hoodie, amazement of its feel
Being with the ones you love at a great thanksgiving meal
Jumping in puddles and running through the rain
The minty taste on Christmas of a red-striped candy cane
Spinning in dizzy circles until you can’t stand up
The sweetness of the summer sun and smoothies in a cup.

Take in the simple pleasures
You can find them everywhere
It’s the little things in life that count
And for those you must truly care

This is an excellent poem, it has a good flow about it, and you are so right. It is the little things, that are all around us, that make life worthwhile. Tango.
