Still Poem by Mela Marie

Still

How can she really mean something to you?
After all we did, and all we went through?
Somehow I just can’t believe it to be
You see something in her, like you saw in me.
I couldn’t say, but you knew it was true
That I loved you baby, you don’t know what I’d do
To be back in your arms, back near your face
Your breath mixed with mine in a wonderful place
I know it’s been long and I should’ve forgot
But babe when you left you took a whole lot
I just feel so empty, alone and so mad
Can’t see how it’s easy to forget what you had
But you’re over it now and I remain quite a mess
Still I’ll smile and laugh and just do my best
To love what I’ve got and lean on my friends
Cause friendship stays sturdy as everything bends.
