I never wished her
to cross the ocean of
tears and sorrows
to bear the agony
to become lost
in the mist of sadness
to feel unlike others
to walk on the path of solitude
to elevate herself
to seperate the soul from body
to fight with the dashing air
to write poems...
but divintiy and destiny
can never be changed
she crossed the ocean
with dignity and grace
she beared the thrust of wind
calmly
she wrote her first poem
she took me aback
and made me proud

sheer heartfelt joy beams from between these lines....I'm smiling at the fact that you started by mentioning the agony and then ended by expressing pride...beautiful emotions

A beautiful tribute from a poetess mother to her poetess daughter. Parveen, you have a great ability to write in English. Please keep on writing and bring to light all your latent goodness and elegance. I am sure you will find new poetic zones. Wellcome to poemhunter with a 10/10 vote and lots of good wishes....Naseer.
