Do your hear the silent agony of the
innocent as they lay still in the night?
We share their haunting nightmares
deep in our collective unconscious
for we are part of them as we are but
one breath of one throbbing humanity.
Your domineering scheme has not
triumphed over our free spirits and it
can never take away our identity of
thousands of generations of the earths’
primordial element downtrodden by
the reckless arrogance of your kind.
We don’t care whether you claim to
be the rulers of the world for we
represent the shadow of the undying
hopes and dreams of the past and the
present born of sweat and blood from
some eternal obscurity woven by an
unspoken epistemology of struggle
for a metaphysical existence, and,
thus our limited grasp of reality is more
profound than your false hegemony as
we are forever chained to the perennial
dialectic of being and becoming.
You can always desecrate our soils but
we shall tramp over your wry mediocrity!
There is a great force here. But I tend to look at the spiritual side of it, not the politics. Life is a big battle. I like this expression. Mohabeer Beeharry Read my poems sometime
