September Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

September

September

It was in September
-I do, well-remember

He told me everything
-I have been part of him

Felt shattered by the word
-he had heard from son
- "He is bum! "

He felt the ceiling fall
-packed and wrapped to depart
- "Better dead that around…"

He knew of the rights
-was aware of the laws
-could put them in a fix…
- "What kind of father does? "

Went and found a shelter
-became sort of homeless
-using car, he worked hard
-also went to school

Night-sleep was in the
-office of some friend
-and day rest, before job
-to set head on the wheel
-or recline the car's seat

He never said a word
-of what caused misery
-in his heart, he prayed
- "God, please…"

Again, back to school
-his boxes, everything
-is still untouched, sealed
-as he filled them to leave
-in times, he passes by
-the house that breaks heart
