Sentiments And Wilful Desires Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Sentiments And Wilful Desires

Placid and ripple free, totally at home within, finding
peace always needed.

When loneliness, sorrow and abandonment come crawling
in, trying to beat me at this game of passion and
creativity, taking them down with sublime poetical
interludes that flow and cascade down waterfalls of my
mind.

Sentences and words, continually and incessantly taking
me on voyages into sentiments and willful desires that
overtake my soul in an unconditional love, soaring above,
and taking off without a care in the world.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

In this poem you confront the negative things, mostly emotional, which can spoil our pursuit of happiness. But the language of the poem is so vivid and the mood so upbeat those negative things hardly register. They are defeated by the creativity that spills onto the page and sweeps those negatives into some corner out of sight. But it's important to deal with the enemies of creativity. A poem like this is similar to an inoculation in medicine. It prepares the poetic spirit for a more serious invasion of the blues or other dejected moods.
