Segment Theme Poem by Alex McCullough

Segment Theme

The foolish me inside submitted to the night,
Question after Question, I couldn't make out the words,
Only the silence which called out to me.
Count the dreams you've dropped,
The ones you should've kept with you,
They were innocent times,
Just drowned in the color of the night,
Sadness has swallowed my world,
Just as these regrets are now my moon,
But that glimmer in the middle of this,
Could it really be the hope known as future?
Keep me as a segment theme,
Emotions just wandering around,
My hands can't reach the sky,
But they can grab ahold of you, the star.
Hot like new life just emerged,
This dawn of mine rises quickly,
So to cut the darkness out of the way,
And allow our moment to exist once more.
Call me down like making a wish,
And I'll see it as my only tomorrow,
The loneliness inside me,
Can only tolerate night for so long.
Keep setting the stage,
So we can see how it all plays out.
