Seedlings [or The Beltaine Song] Poem by Leanne Jarrin

Seedlings [or The Beltaine Song]

A seed is a beginning
Planted in your garden
Tended by rain and sunshine
In the Spring

The seed that dwells within you
Is planted in your soul and
Tended by the Goddess
It grows stronger every day

When the Lady tends her garden
In the meadows and the forest
When Cernunnos and Ceridwen
Lay together in the fields
When the children and the Fey Folk
Dance their circle 'round the maypole
The blessings of the season
Bring flowers to your soul

When you marvel at a seedling
Dancing toward the Sun God
And reaching with its roots
To Mother Earth

Just remember you're a seedling
Dancing toward your fathers
And reaching for the mother of
Your mother's mother's birth

When the Lady tends her garden
In the meadows and the forest
When the Cernunnos and Ceridwen
Lay together in the fields
When the children and the Fey Folk
Dance their circle 'round the maypole
The blessings of the season
Bring flowers to your soul
