Secret Verse
Secret verse can stop your heart
from bleeding deep inside.
You pen the words discreetly
and staunch the blood to hide
how you feel on lonely days
and take it out on the page.
No one bothers to read the verse
and the words slowly age,
Unknown to all except the one
who's put them down on paper.
Now isn't that the silliest act?
I call it the secret verse caper.
