Scents Of Nature Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Scents Of Nature

Readily hoping to be going camping soon, wanting to
recharge inner batteries with silent and refreshing
scents of nature.

Looking forward to pine trees, walks in the forest,
fishing in the lake aboard our 14 foot rowboat.

A peaceful and serene time, communing with natural
life alone, being in the center of it's serenity and
loving every moment.

SILENT AND REFRESHING SCENTS OF NATURE - too often we forget the sense of smell because of our human bias toward sight (Aristotle called sight the most intellectual sense,) And we don; t associate the Interior World with Smell or Taste. But researches at the U of Minnesota Psychology Department found the sense of smell registered in EVERY TEST they conducted of sensory impressions. But it was mostly unconscious and therefore unrecognized. Why don't you devote some poems to giving the sense of smell its due!
