Safe Inside Poem by John Zeller

Safe Inside

Walking through the city under frozen neon lights
Guided by an angel on a cold winters night
Darkness on the outskirts of a city without time
The winters biting cold cutting through my icy spine
Guiding me through passageways a maze of thrilled confusion
Everything looks the same inside this grand illusion
Sheltered from the elements tasting her lips of wine
Surrounded by her beauty losing all my sense of time
Our bodies entwined together her tongue a cordial sweet
She harbors me in her arms and takes my soul to keep
Underneath an overpass pressed against her thighs
Safe inside her golden main drowning in her eyes
