Returning Poem by Debora Soramaki

Returning

After twenty-four years I'm returning
To the land of my birth
New adjustments we'll have to keep learnng
Rain clouds above the earth
Situations change so we need to leave
Add nature to one's life
We will drink spring water and breath clean air
Backpack, boots, matches, knife
Into the forest is where I belong
Campfires warm the night
Family and friends will join in a song
Laughter in the moonlight
The journey begins through mountains and snow
Many routes to travel
Pullng a trailer we'll need to drive slow
On roads made of gravel
We will never forget the years spent here
All the friends we have made
In our hearts you will always stay near
Never will the love fade.
