Removed Poem by Douglas Scotney

In common with Will,
who read Plutarch twice-removed from the Greek -
in English from a French translation -
his 'Parallel Lives' of 23 Romans and Greeks -
I read 'War And Peace' twice-away
(at least, the middle third -
the whole holding too much sway) .

I haven't removed it again,
as Will did North's English translation
of Amyat's French
of Plutarch's 'Cleopatra on her Barge'.
I may, though, have a go
at a small part of that third
of that enormously large.

You may say,
'At 25 lines, Doug'll be stretched.'
I say,
'25 ain't so far-fetched.'
