Remembering Emily Dickinson Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Remembering Emily Dickinson

Rating: 5.0

A fan - charged with current-
Is as good- a man
It moves - can fly
Power withdrawn- foreseeing- lightning
Thunder, rain- trees uprooted and fell-
Wires snapped- ailments-
Is as good - a stone
Resurrection is possible
Restored- put it in - battery cell
Off and on at His will
Alive- like a temple's bell-
Oh Emily
In the dead of night I cry
Do you know why
Because you are dead
And I am alive and alone
And I talk to darkness
That has kept you hidden from us
It cries and I let it go
Then comes the day with its light
I forget
Yet you linger in my thought
Oh come back Emily Dickinson
Through me write your poems
And assuage souls in distress
